The Neat® Company Demonstrates its Support for Small Businesses During National Small Business Week and Beyond

PHILADELPHIA, May 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Neat® Company, developers of user friendly scanning hardware and software solutions, served as a co-sponsor of the 2011 National Small Business Week Conference in Washington, D.C. last week.  The company continues its ongoing support for small businesses by hosting a webcast event, "Organization & Productivity for Small Businesses," featuring Joshua Zerkel, Certified Professional Organizer®.  Zerkel a member of The Neat Company's Neat Fleet, will share his strategies for organization and productivity in order to achieve small business growth on May 26, 2 p.m. EDT.

This season, Neat will also sponsor a Small Business Paper-LESS Makeover.  This giveaway will offer one small business a chance to consult with a member of the Neat Fleet about improving their paper-related organization and workflow.  To help transform its processes, the small business will also receive NeatDesk® and NeatReceipts® scanners and NeatWorks® digital filing software.  To complete the Paper-LESS makeover, Neat will also provide a new PC laptop, backup hard drive, iPad, office supplies, and Neat accessories.

"Neat provides an easy, reliable way for small businesses to free themselves from laborious paper-intensive processes," explained Neat Chief Marketing Officer Kevin Garton. "As we heard many times at the National Small Business Week Conference, Neat is essential to running an efficient operation."

By digitizing the paper that a small business collects – from business cards to contracts, from receipts to insurance policies – Neat enables an organized, clutter-free business environment in which important documents are quickly located.  Neat goes beyond the capabilities of traditional scanners to extract information that was once trapped on paper.  At the touch of a button small businesses can turn many receipts into an organized expense report, turn a quarter of business spending into tax preparation for their accountant or calculate budgets based on previous spending.

About The Neat Company: The Neat® Company has created a new way for small businesses and consumers to transform paper documents into digital information. We manufacture and market a unique combination of software and hardware scanning solutions. These solutions employ optical character recognition (OCR) and patented parsing technology to read information on receipts, business cards and documents – extracting data from paper so it can be used to easily create expense reports, complete tax forms, populate contact databases and track spending.

The Neat Company also enables our customers to build their own digital filing cabinet. This creates one centralized location where they can go to organize, find and share all of their important paper documents and electronic files.

Founded in 2002, The Neat Company is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa. For more information, please visit www.neatco.com.
