The Hanover Insurance Group Adds Specialised Technology Niche

The Hanover Insurance Group said it has introduced a specialised small commercial program for technology businesses. The new offering provides tailored insurance solutions for the growing number of small technology businesses.
"With an appetite for more than 30 new classes of business within the information technology and electronics manufacturers sectors, the company also offers a comprehensive portfolio of coverages including The Hanover's Avenues BOP (Business Owner's Policy), technology professional liability, workers' compensation, commercial automobile, umbrella, and marine. Targeted classes include programmers, packaged software, systems integrators, computer consultants, data processing, hosting and related services, web designers and selected electronics manufacturers," the insurance company said in a press release.
The customisable programme offers a suite of core and specialty technology coverages for a wide-range of risks that follow the life-cycle of a client.
They include:
Technology professional liability that offers coverage for errors and omissions as well as breach of warranties and representations;
Two new BOP broadening endorsements that add or extend property coverage in more than 30 different areas;
Two new general liability endorsements that restore coverage for bodily injury and property damage claims arising from technology products or services;
Enhanced Website and Internet coverage that helps protect business owners who engage in website activities from personal injury or advertising injury claims;
Worldwide coverage that extends the general liability territory to protect against suits throughout the world.
Several other coverages complete the total solution for technology businesses, including those for employment practices liability, commercial crime, and directors and officers.
"The Hanover also offers a broad range of commercial lines solutions for small and mid-sized businesses well beyond the new technology offering, giving the company's agent partners the advantage they need to continue to grow, in any market," the press release said.
Later this year, The Hanover plans to extend its technology offering to include middle market businesses, enabling the company to offer a complete life-cycle for technology companies.
