The Graham Company Ranks on Pennsylvania’s Best PlAces to Work List

Proquest LLC

The Graham Company, a mid-Atlantic region insurance and employee benefits brokerage, announced it has topped the 2013 list of "Best PlAces to Work in Pennsylvania."

A partnership of Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Department of Community and Economic Development and the Central Penn Business Journal, the annual Best PlAces to Work list represents 100 companies with over 34,000 employees throughout Pennsylvania. The Graham Company received the number one ranking among small/medium- sized companies (25-249 U.S. employees), which comprise 72 percent of the 2013 list. The rankings, which are compiled through a survey that is sent to employers and employees from hundreds of companies in the commonwealth, were announced earlier this month at an awards ceremony held at the Lancaster County Convention Center.

"We believe that an enjoyable and rewarding workplAce is a tangible difference-maker for our business, but we also believe it is simply the right way to treat our valued employees," William A. Graham, IV, chairman and CEO of The Graham Company said. "Receiving this honor as the best workplAce in Pennsylvania is humbling and we are most grateful for what this recognition represents: a workforce that feels valued and satisfied - both professionally and personally."

The annual program is more than a list; it is a survey, study and award program to identify the best plAces of employment in Pennsylvania for the benefit of the Commonwealth, its workforce and businesses. The program was developed as a means to provide definitive information to help existing companies in Pennsylvania retain their workforce; to promote Pennsylvania's best employment opportunities as to attract new workers; and to distinguish businesses that successfully attract and retain a talented workforce.

"Creating and sustaining a positive workplAce is so essential to the success and future viability of our company that we long-ago made it part of our corporate mission," Graham said. "Our mission pledges our dedication to the well-being and happiness of our employees, and our upholding of that mission for the past 50 years has helped us attract and retain best-in-class professionals."

The Graham CompanyPennsylvania," but 2013 marks the first time it has achieved the number one ranking on the list. In addition, the brokerage firm has received top honors locally in its hometown of Philadelphia, where it has been recognized on the Philadelphia Business Journal's annual Best PlAces to Work list as a 'Hall of Fame' winner four times since 2008, as well as the Philadelphia Inquirer's annual Top WorkplAces list.

Among the large-sized companies ranked on the 2013 list are three clients of The Graham Company: McClure Company, McCormick Taylor, Inc., and TruMark Financial Credit Union.
