Mr. Shunney was a senior executive with Sun Life Financial for nearly twenty years, where he led the U.S. Employee Benefits Division to significant, sustained annual growth in revenue and net income. Additionally, Mr. Shunney was the founder of Shunney and Associates, LLC--an advi¬sory firm pro¬vid¬ing strategic leadership insight and consultation to companies in financial, insurance, and medical services.

Prior to joining The Advocator Group in a full time capacity, Mr. Shunney acted in a consulting role for several months, advising the senior leadership team of The Advocator Group on issues ranging from changing dynamics in the market to expanding value delivery to insurance carriers. The company seeks to capitalize on his extensive experience and knowledge in distribution and sales, profit building, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational development in order to further its goal of increasing revenue while maintaining a strong margin.
