Oct. 13--A list of personnel moves and recognition in South Florida

Recognition

Peter Hahn, treasurer of the Seminole Tribes of Florida Hollywood Indian Reservation, was honored for his outstanding leadership during the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development's Reservation Economic Summit at the Potawatomi Hotel and Casino in Milwaukee, Wis. Hahn, among other emerging Native American leaders from across the country, was recognized with the "Native American 40 under 40" award for "showing initiative and dedication to providing significant, positive contributions to business or in their respective communities." Hahn began with the Seminole Tribes of Florida in 2005 as a collegiate summer intern, and has served in management and as deputy treasurer before obtaining his current position. He is a member of Leadership Broward Class XXV and is an Ambassador for Americans for Indian Opportunity.

Gary S. Lesser will be honored with the 2014 Judge Learned Hand award on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Cohen Pavilion, Kravis Center, West Palm Beach, by the American Jewish Committee Palm Beach County regional office, for his work in the field of personal injury law and his dedication to the well-being of the community.

Sheldon Edwards, Miami Dade College, was honored as Advocate of the Year; at the Southern Florida Minority Supplier Development Council's 39th annual awards gala, "A Celebration of Excellence in Diversity," held recently in Miami. In addition, Fernando Felix, CVS Health, was recognized as Buyer of the Year and Ron Reagon, FPL, received the Crystal Award. SFMSDC is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing access and growth for minority businesses in South Florida.

Health, medical

Gerry Litrento, senior executive vice president, retail and business banking for Miami Lakes-based BankUnited, recently joined the Henderson Behavioral Health board of directors.

Joseph Nader, managing director for Wescott Financial Advisory Group in Coral Gables, was appointed to the board of directors of Miami Children's Hospital.

Leadership

The Fort Lauderdale chapter of Femfessionals announced its most recent board of advisers. President is Stacy Boegem, JD, certified life and business coach, and founder, The Happiness Agenda. In addition, the chapter appointed community ambassadors: Blair Critch, THRIVE by Le-Vel; Sherry Schneider, Schneider Legal Group; Jennifer Gomez, estate planning attorney; Bonnie Mitten, Morgan Stanley; Diane Gragonetti, Royal Caribbean; Darlene Giol, Origami Owl and Tonya Seavers Evans, Style Strategist. Femfessionals hosts socials and signature events to help business women create strategic connections to strengthen their business circle and increase revenue for their business.

Jacqueline Howe, of Katz Barron Squitero Faust, and a member of its litigation department, was recently appointed to the Steering Committee at United Way of Broward County Women'sLeadership Council. In addition, Howe is also the vice chair of the 11th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Inspirational Breakfast being held on Jan 16.

Education

Samuel Berey was named director of program innovation at Grandview Preparatory School, an independent college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school in Boca Raton.

Media

Helen Jurado joined Cisneros Media Distribution as senior director of sales and business development, in Miami, responsible for maximizing profitability of the Cisneros Media's vast catalogue in Latin America, developing new and creative multiplatform strategies. Previously, she was as vice president of sales and distribution, Latin America and U.S. Hispanic, for BBC Worldwide.

Real estate

David Hall has joined Illustrated Properties as a Realtor in Delray Beach.

Jack McAllister has joined Cushman & Wakefield's Investor Services Group as senior portfolio manager overseeing investor services for all of South Florida, based in Fort Lauderdale. He was previously with Jones Land LaSalle where he was senior general manager.

Flavia Eternod joined Blanca Commercial Real Estate in Miami as associate vice president; and Cyvellis Vidal joined as research and marketing director. Most recently Eternod was senior property manager for New Boston Fund Inc., and Vidal was marketing manager for Eventus Marketing LLC.

Linda Chu has been appointed chief financial officer of Swire Properties Inc., in Miami. The former head of finance for Swire Hotels, a division of Swire Properties, Chu will move from Hong Kong to South Florida to oversee the fiscal functions and performance of Swire Properties Inc., including the $1.05 billionBrickell City Centre, Miami's largest mixed-use urban development.

Brady Titcomb was promoted to vice president and associate director of brokerage for JLL in Fort Lauderdale. He was vice president and research director since 2010.

Hospitality

Rosemarie Reed was promoted to vice president of marketing at CruiseOne and Cruises Inc., which are part of World Travel Holdings. Reed joined the Fort Lauderdale company six years ago and was most recenlty director of marketing.

Lifestyle

Shauna Monahan has joined the continuing care retirement community Covenant Village of Florida as the director of resident services in Plantation. Monahan was most recently the case manager at the NE Focal Point Alzheimer's Center in Deerfield Beach.

Nonprofit

Lee Cohen, Delray Beach attorney and partner in the Law Offices of Carner, Newmark & Cohen, LLP, has been named board member for KidSafe Foundation, whose mission is to prevent child sexual abuse, bullying, and internet dangers through education, workshops, and training.

Finance

David C. Coggins has joined Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust's as senior vice president, private banker, in Coral Gables.

Community

Alexander P. Heckler, co-founder of LSN Partners, and a partner at Llorente & Heckler P.A. law firm, has been named chair of the governor's cabinet of the Democratic Governors' Association, an independent voluntary political organization organized to support Democratic governors and candidates across the nation founded in 1983.
