StepStone Solutions Implements a People-Oriented E-Recruitment System for AXA in China
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- StepStone Solutions (OSE:STP)(LSE:STPS), a global leader in total talent management solutions, has begun implementing a new e-recruitment management platform for AXA-Minmetals Assurance Co., Ltd, a joint venture of two Global 500 groups, AXA Group and Minmetals Corporation. AXA, the first Sino-French insurance company in China, is introducing the new system to support its rapid business development and help the company succeed in the growing competition for financial services talent in China’s rapidly expanding economy. With the help of the new system, AXA recruitment and hiring managers can dramatically reduce their administrative burden and spend more time on interviewing and understanding staff. StepStone’s e-recruitment solution also allows AXA to handle massive volumes of applicants and identify the most cost-effective resume sources, creating further efficiencies.
The rapidly growing insurance industry in China has created high employee turnover, particularly in sales staff. As a result, HR managers are tasked with finding, accepting, screening and interviewing a very large number of applicants. To meet these needs, AXA needed both capable and experienced recruitment managers and a sophisticated support system to allow them to work efficiently and transparently with candidates. After only four weeks from start of the project, StepStone’s e-recruitment management platform entered initial production, assisting AXA managers in handling the thousands of applications sent in by candidates every year. The Stepstone system keeps records of all activities for each applicant, and reports on key metrics such as cost per hire and resume channel price/performance ratios. The system also supports screening of applications into sales and other job categories, to reduce workload and avoid mistakes.
“Being people-oriented, AXA recruitment managers spend a lot of time interviewing candidates to understand their characters, individual abilities and career goals,” said Peng Jian, recruitment manager at AXA. “It’s the responsibility of the recruitment manager to decide, according to his experience and judgment, whether the candidate is suitable. To optimize workflow, we wanted the system to handle the process in a standardized way, from screening resumes to coordinating various parties and arranging interviews.”
“The StepStone e-recruitment solution is vital at Shanghai AXA to facilitate a rapid and professional interaction between the company and its candidates. This will in turn directly improve its candidate relations, help distinguish the company from competitors and enable it to succeed in its talent development goals,” said Matthew Parker, StepStone Solutions’ Group Managing Director. “This high-profile win for StepStone in the growing Asia market continues to underline our capability to deliver total talent management solutions on a truly global basis.”
