Scheck Industries Names New General Counsel and VP Corporate Development Officer

Scheck Industries, a national industrial piping and mechanical construction contractor, announced that Karen Layng has been appointed the General Counsel and as the Vice President Corporate Development Officer of the Scheck companies and will remain an advisor to the Board.

According to a release, Layng joins Scheck from Vedder Price, P.C. where she was a shareholder, Chair of the Construction Law Group and Compensation Committee and immediate past chair of the Litigation Practice Area, as well as a long-standing member of the firm's Board of Directors.

Layng has construction expertise and experience on transactional and litigation matters and has been an advisor to company boards. She has successfully tried cases in federal and state courts and before the American Arbitration Association and is a member of the AAA Panel of Arbitrators, for commercial and construction disputes. She has demonstrated skills in business development, strategic growth and enterprise risk management. She will report to Chairman, Richard N. Scheck.
