Sandoval Appoints Don Soderberg Director of Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation

CARSON CITY, Nev., Sept. 26 -- Gov. Brian Sandoval, R-Nev., has issued the following news release:
Governor Brian Sandoval today announced he has appointed Don Soderberg as the Director of the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.
"Don has a long career history of public service and private sector experience. He is a knowledgeable and exciting addition to my Cabinet," said Governor Brian Sandoval. "I look forward to working with him in this new role. I am confident he will be an asset to DETR and Nevadans will be well served."
Don Soderberg is the current Industrial Relations Administrator, an appointed position within the Department of Business and Industry. He has more than 25 years of legal and regulatory experience which includes eight years as the Chairman of the Nevada Public Utilities Commission. He also served terms as Commissioner on the Public Utilities Commission and Nevada Transportation Services Authority.
Soderberg previously served as the Vice President of Risk Management and Corporate Compliance at Southwest Gas. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Pricing and VP of External Affairs. Soderberg began his career in public relations and marketing. After attending law school, he practiced administrative and commercial law with Lionel Sawyer and Collins from 1987 to 1995.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and a juris doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
