SCF Arizona Selects Guidewire for Rating, Underwriting, Policy Administration, Billing and Claims Management

Business Wire, Inc.

Guidewire InsuranceSuite™ to help Arizona workers’ compensation provider enhance customer service capabilities and anticipate business growth and change

PHOENIX & SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Arizona State Compensation Fund (SCF Arizona), an insurance company that provides workers' compensation insurance in Arizona, and Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE: GWRE), a provider of core system software to property/casualty (P/C) insurers, today announced that SCF Arizona has selected Guidewire InsuranceSuite™as its new platform for rating, underwriting, policy administration, billing and claims management. The company will deploy PolicyCenter (with Rating Management and Underwriting) and BillingCenter first, followed by ClaimCenter.

SCF Arizona selected Guidewire to support their current business and future product development and to provide enhanced operational efficiencies for their growing agency distribution channel.

“We selected Guidewire based on the maturity of its products and the company’s industry knowledge and experience,” said Arnold Jee, director, IT/Applications and Product Development. “We are confident that InsuranceSuite will help us configure and build resources efficiently, keeping costs and time investments to a minimum.”

“We want to provide a great experience for both our agents and customers,” said Rick Jones, senior vice president chief sales and business development officer. “Guidewire InsuranceSuite will enable us to do so as it provides deep and broad functionality for our core operations and has the flexibility to help us quickly and effectively deliver enhanced customer service.”

Guidewire InsuranceSuite will enable SCF Arizona to:

  • Keep pace with changing business needs with system flexibility and configurability;
  • Increase operational efficiency through automation across a common platform;
  • Enable its staff to focus on the most important task of serving its customers leveraging the ease of use the systems offer; and
  • Better respond to the unique needs of its policyholders and agents – with increased speed and accuracy.

“We are proud to have SCF Arizona as a Guidewire InsuranceSuite customer,” said Marcus Ryu, chief executive officer, Guidewire Software. “We recognize that customer satisfaction is a key priority for SCF Arizona, and InsuranceSuite will help them to reach their customer service goals.”

Guidewire InsuranceSuite provides the flexible core systems essential for the mission-critical operations of property/casualty insurers competing in today’s market: underwriting, policy administration, billing and claims. The suite was designed using a modular approach, enabling insurers to select individual applications -- Guidewire PolicyCenter®, Guidewire BillingCenter®, and Guidewire ClaimCenter® -- or a pre-integrated set, driven by their requirements and priorities. InsuranceSuite provides the flexibility insurers need to deliver insurance the way they want to, by rapidly delivering better products and service to their policyholders and agents, while improving underwriting discipline and lowering operational costs.
