SBLI Again Earns A+ Rating from A.M. Best For Financial Strength
WOBURN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts (SBLI) today announced that for the eighteenth consecutive year, it has been rated “A+ (Superior)” for its financial strength by the A.M. Best Company, the insurance industry’s leading rating organization.
According to A.M. Best, their rating of SBLI reflects the company’s “leading position as a low-cost term life insurance provider, the benefits it derives from its well-recognized ‘SBLI’ brand name in its domicile state of Massachusetts, its continuing geographic expansion strategy, efficient direct response and expanding broker distribution systems, increasing direct ordinary life premium growth trends, solid level of risk-adjusted capitalization, and effective asset/liability management and cash flow analysis techniques.”
SBLI’s rating of A+ (Superior) is the second-highest rating possible under Best’s system. Only 12.6 percent of all life-health insurance companies currently are rated A+ or above by A.M. Best; SBLI of Massachusetts is the smallest independent life insurance company in the country with an A+ rating.
“We are pleased that A.M. Best has once again placed SBLI among the most financially sound insurance companies in the country,” said SBLI President and CEO Robert K. Sheridan. “Our consistently high ranking, through both good and bad times, stands as testimony to our success in focusing on our mission of providing safe, low-cost life insurance.”
