Rehman Joins Navvis & Company

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Navvis & Company (Navvis) announced today the appointment of Aamir Rehman, MD, MBA, as senior vice president for consulting services, and of the Physician Executive Leadership Center (PELC), a division of Navvis and the nation's only executive search firm focused solely on the recruitment and placement of physicians in executive leadership positions. In these roles, Aamir will work with hospital and health system executive leadership on physician governance, clinical alignment and integration, organizational strategy, business design and executive development.

Prior to joining Navvis, Aamir served as executive vice president for Strategy, Planning and Academic Affiliations at Saint Peter's Healthcare System in New Brunswick, NJ. In that role, Aamir oversaw strategy development, business development, operational planning and graduate clinical education. While at Saint Peters, Aamir also worked with physicians to create models of clinical integration and alignment, helped overhaul the approach to developing long-term strategy, and helped launch the institution's Baldrige initiative.

Before joining Saint Peter's, Aamir was a principal/partner of The Advisory Board Company in Washington, DC – one of the nation's leading healthcare research, consulting and technology firms. During his tenure at the Advisory Board, he served as a principal in the H*Works Consulting division (best practices implementation); head of the faculty of the Physician Leadership Academy (physician executive development and governance); and clinical executive advisor with the Advisory Board's Clinical Advisory Board program.

Additionally, he worked across the Clinical Advisory Board, Oncology Roundtable, Cardiology Roundtable and Health Care Advisory Board on specific best-practice research studies. Aamir joined the Advisory Board Company from Mercer Management Consulting and Corporate Decisions Inc., where he worked with clients in the health care and non-health care sector on issues of business design, strategy and operations. Client industries included pharmaceutical, medical device, insurance and managed care, electronics and automotive companies.

Aamir earned his M.B., B.S. (M.D.) from Aga Khan UniversityMedical College and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He has done clinical and research work at Harvard Medical School and Baylor College of Medicine, and has served as adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University.
