People charged with DUI

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Brandon L. Teeter, 27, of 86 N. Minnequa Ave., Canton, by Canton police for an incident at 11:36 p.m.Sept. 27 on South Center Street in Canton.

Teeter was also charged with summary disorderly conduct for unreasonable noise, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

According to an affidavit, Officer Trey Kurtz said he saw a blue 2009 Ford Mustang "peel out" through the Moose's parking lot and out onto South Center Street, and he activated his lights and sirens, initiating a traffic stop behind Canton Pharmacy. Teeter was identified as the driver. Kurtz said an odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from Teeter's breath. Teeter submitted to a PBT, and blew a .210 result.

Wilcox said Teeter faces a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m.Dec. 4.

Lynette Denise Bristol, 43, of 2834 Sylvania Rd., Troy, by Canton police for an incident at 12:14 a.m.Aug. 31 on Springbrook Drive in Canton.

Bristol was also charged with a lane violation and careless driving, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

According to an affidavit, Officer Trey Kurtz saw a 2004 Dodge Stratus coupe driving north on Route 14 as it entered Canton Borough. He said it crossed over the double yellow line and then the fog line, and then crossed the double yellow lines into the opposing lane of traffic. A traffic stop was initiated and Bristol was identified as the driver. She had glassy eyes and Kurtz could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath. She submitted to a PBT, and blew a result of .182.

Wilcox said she was sent a summons for a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. on Nov. 27.

Jacob Charles Jayne, 21, of 56 Fourwinds Ln., Canton, by the Pennsylvania State Police for an incident at approximately 8:55 a.m.Sept. 7 on Route 6 at Bronson Road in Troy Township.

Jayne was also charged with a drug paraphernalia-related offense, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, a violation of "driving on right side of roadway," a lane violation, and careless driving, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

According to an affidavit, Trooper Tyler Brackman was dispatched to a one-vehicle crash and he saw a red Mitsubishi Eclipse at final rest on Route 6, blocking the eastbound lane. The front of the vehicle was heavily damaged and was resting against a guide rail. A glass pipe which contained residue which tested positive for marijuana was in plain view inside the vehicle. The driver identified himself as Jayne. He was placed under arrest for DUI.

Wilcox said Jayne faces a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m.Nov. 13.

Robert William Coles, 43, of 9464 Route 414, Canton, by the Pennsylvania State Police for an incident Oct. 6 on Dodge City Road in Granville Township.

Coles was also charged with careless driving, failing to wear a safety belt, and parking on the roadway, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

According to an affidavit, Trooper Christopher Schelling saw a blue Chevrolet Silverado parked on the roadway facing east, with its headlights on and the motor running. He saw a man behind the steering wheel, passed out and not wearing a seatbelt. In addition, he could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver, Coles, and inside the vehicle. Coles was disoriented and his blood-alcohol content was .20 percent.

Wilcox said Coles was sent a summons for a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. on Nov. 20.

Travis Jay Geisinger, 24, of Sayre, by Sayre Borough police, on Oct. 19, on North Elmer Avenue in Sayre. Geisinger has also been charged with having a prohibited sun screening device. A blood alcohol test revealed that Geisinger's blood alcohol content was .17 percent on the day of his arrest. Geisinger has been sent a summons to appear Nov. 26 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Ellen Elizabeth Lattimer, 32, of Elmira Heights, N.Y., by Sayre Borough police, on Oct. 20, on North Lehigh Avenue in Sayre. Lattimer has also been charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to use a turn signal and driving with an open container. A blood alcohol test revealed that Lattimer's blood alcohol content was .15 percent on the day of her arrest. Lattimer has been sent a summons to appear Dec. 3 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Albert Earl Fuller III, 21, of Athens, by Sayre Borough police, on Oct. 18, at Oneida Street and North Lehigh Avenue in Sayre. Fuller has also been charged with careless driving and operating a vehicle with off-road lighting. A blood alcohol test revealed that Fuller's blood alcohol content was .17 percent on the day of his arrest. Fuller has been sent a summons to appear Nov. 26 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Frederick Brownell Peake Jr., 47, of Athens, by Athens Borough police, on Sept. 26, on South Main Street in Athens. Peake has also been charged with driving with a suspended license. A blood alcohol test revealed that Peake's blood alcohol content was .11 percent on the day of his arrest. Peake has been sent a summons to appear Nov. 26 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Accident occurs in Wells Township

State police said a one-vehicle accident occurred at 4:20 a.m.Nov. 3 in Wells Township.

Police did not provide information about the name or address of the driver.

According to police, a 2004 Hyundai Elantra was traveling east on State Route 328 and as it approached the intersection with Route 549, the driver applied the brakes and skidded through the intersection. The vehicle went off the roadway and into the ditch on the east side of Route 549, coming to final rest. Police said the vehicle did not sustain any damage, but a towing company removed it from the scene. The driver was charged with a violation of "duties at stop signs."

Man charged with harassment

State police at Towanda said Joshua Ryan Whitehead, 27, of Troy was charged with harassment following an incident at 3:05 p.m.Nov. 1 at 15927 Route 6 in West Burlington Township.

Police said a physical altercation occurred at the location and the victim was a 24-year-old Troy man.

Police said Whitehead struck him with a closed fist to the face and with an open hand and kicked him in the chest area.

Burglary reported

State police at Towanda said a now-17-year-old Troy male was responsible for the burglary and vandalizing of a seasonal cabin owned by an 83-year-old Troy woman sometime between Sept. 10, 2011 and May 21, 2011 in Troy Township.

Police said a juvenile charging sheet was filed against the juvenile with the Bradford County Juvenile Probation DepartmentNov. 1, and disposition of the case is to be handled in accordance with the established procedures of Bradford County.

Juvenile facing drug charges

A 16-year-old male of Rome was charged with possession of a controlled substance after being found with Clonazepam, a schedule IV controlled substance, on Oct. 14, on Battlecreek Road in Rome Township .

Storm windows stolen

State police are reporting that approximately 70 used aluminum storm windows were stolen from a property in Herrick Township belonging to a 37-year-old male from Wyalusing.

The theft occurred sometime between Sept. 8 and Oct. 5, police said.

Woman hits deer in Wyalusing Township

Lisa D. Payne, 58, of Rome is not facing charges after striking a deer while traveling westbound on State Route 6 in Wyalusing Township on Nov. 2 at 5:45 p.m..

She was piloting a 2012 Toyota Rav 4 when the incident occurred, police said.

Payne was not injured during the accident and was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, police said.

Man uninjured in Albany Twp. after hitting deer

George E. Finogle, 74, of Canton was involved in a one vehicle accident on State Route 220 in Albany Twp. at 6:40 p.m. on Nov. 1.

Police said Finogle was traveling southbound in a 1993 Subaru Impreza when he struck a deer while traveling at approximately 45 mph, police said.

Finogle was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident and was uninjured, police said.

He is not facing any charges.

Barton man arrested

A Barton man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal mischief.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Kyle S. Phillips, 21, was also charged with menacing and resisting arrest.

Police said Phillips was arrested following investigation into a Nov. 2 domestic incident at his Route 17C residence in which he allegedly threatened a female with a knife and destroyed a cellular phone. Police said Phillips refused to comply with police and attempted to physically resist deputies while he was being taken into custody.

Phillips was arraigned in Barton town court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 insurance bond. Phillips is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 12.

Theft charge

An Elmira Heights, N.Y. woman was recently charged with theft by unlawful taking by Sayre Borough police.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Samantha L. Farr, 21, is accused of removing a cellular phone Oct. 19 from a Summit Street residence.

Farr's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 3.

Child endangerment charge filed

A Sayre woman was recently charged with endangering the welfare of children by Athens Township police.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Katie Hoose, 25, was charged after her 19-month-old child was found wandering around the grounds of Lynch-Bustin Elementary SchoolOct. 17.

Hoose's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 3.

Sayre man charged

A Sayre man was recently charged with simple assault by borough police.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Trey A. Ellers, 30, was also charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

Police said Ellers pointed a loaded handgun at a female and told her to leave his property, then fired the weapon once into the ground during an Oct. 27 incident.

Ellers' preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 26.

Police investigate burglary

State police at Towanda are investigating a reported burglary at an Ulster Township business.

According to information from state police, an unknown suspect broke into the Milan Veterinary Clinic sometime between 8 p.m.Sept. 27 and 1 p.m.Sept. 28. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Ulster man charged following DUI crash

State police at Towanda recently charged an Ulster man with driving while under the influence following investigation into a Sept. 21 hit-and-run motor vehicle accident.

According to state police information, William A. Coolbaugh, 47, operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, contributing to the accident, which occurred at about 6:50 p.m.Sept. 21 at Route 220 and Blue Jay Lane. Police said Coolbaugh was located at his residence with his damaged vehicle in the driveway.

Nobody was injured in the accident, police said.

Police investigating theft

State police are investigating a theft that occurred at a Litchfield Township property.

According to information from state police at Towanda, two unknown white males entered the Vawter Hill Road property, a properly posted wooded area, and removed a trail camera sometime between Oct. 12 and Oct. 19. Police said the males used a tree stand on the property to hunt, then left the property.

Man arrested on drug charges

A Tunkhannock, Pa. man was recently arraigned on charges related to the sale of controlled substance in Aug. 2012 in Athens Township.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, David Larkin Harding, 24, was charged with criminal conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and possession of a controlled substance.

Police said Harding delivered methamphetamine to a confidential informant on Aug. 17, 2012, in the parking lot of the Dandy Mini Mart on White Wagon Road.

Harding was arraigned Nov. 7 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. Harding's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 19.
