Commercial Customers
Safety presentations in a dozen locations throughout the summer
Keene, N.H. (June 8, 2009) – Peerless Insurance, a Liberty Mutual Agency Markets regional company, is offering its commercial policyholders a series of free safety presentations this summer geared towards reducing risks and making workplaces safer.
The half-day sessions concentrate on construction and light industry, offering three presentations for each discipline. The industry presentations include:
-
Return to Work & Premium Impact – How to better control premiums through preventing and managing losses with an effective risk management strategy that utilizes loss prevention and claims management measures;
-
Disaster Recovery – Examines operational preparedness for natural catastrophes or emergency scenarios, including vulnerability assessments and other resources for developing or improving a disaster recovery plan; and
-
Violence in the Workplace – A danger to employees and a threat to a business’ reputation, this presentation explains the signs to watch for and how to manage and defuse the risk of an incident.
The construction presentations include:
-
Contractual Risk Transfer – Learn the potential liabilities assumed by general contractors or subcontractors through the use of specific language in contracts. This presentation looks at different risk transfer techniques as well as other protective measures;
-
Dig Safe – State laws require notification of utilities before digging projects begin, but those requirements can vary from state-to-state. Participants will learn the requirements and procedures for their states; and
-
Slips, Trips and Falls – Second to overexertion injuries, these injuries are the second most costly and frequently reported workplace claims. Participants will learn about contributors to slips and falls, what surfaces are better than others, and how to identify problem areas with the use of a slip meter.
