| PR Newswire Association LLC |
Osha Liang seeks applicants for the firm's unique Patent Agent Program. Recent college graduates with computer science degrees and experienced individuals from the high tech industry are encouraged to apply for a full-time position with the firm.
As part of the program, Osha Liang offers competitive compensation, as well as medical, dental, disability and life insurance benefits, parking and 401(k) retirement plan.
During the first year of employment, program participants undergo a regular training schedule with a combination of in-house lectures and mentorship. During their studies, members also maintain technical expertise through daily application of technical knowledge by prosecuting patent applications.
Lord added, "Once in the program, participants can expect to read and study technical analyses of complex scientific topics, and learn to write patent applications and schedule future projects. Other days in the program are focused on learning about various technologies. By year's end, our patent engineers, in collaboration with patent agents and attorneys, understand how we solve problems for and support our clients around the world."
Upon completion of the patent agent program, members are expected to sit for and pass the Patent Agent Exam conducted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. After passing this exam, employees become patent agents. After passing the Patent Agent Exam, agents are encouraged to attend law school part-time with financial assistance from Osha Liang.
Program applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents. Individuals who have earned or will soon earn a computer science or related degree with a strong academic record (top 25 percent) or exemplary industry experience are encouraged to apply. Coursework in applied math, economics, physics, and/or technical writing is a plus. The ideal candidate enjoys drafting narrative and persuasive documents while critically analyzing and solving problems. Time management skills are also critical.
