Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Doak Welcomes Gordon Amini to OID

Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak welcomed Gordon Amini's return to the Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) as Senior Attorney.

According to a release, Amini was previously employed at OID from 1977-1981 and brings 37 years of legal and insurance industry experience to the Department.

"I personally feel it's tremendous when individuals like Mr. Amini believe in Oklahoma being open for business and wish to serve Oklahomans," said Doak. "His reputation is well-known and he will provide expert legal assistance with interpretation of state statutes, workers' compensation and new captive initiatives."

Amini is recently retired from Physicians Liability Insurance Company (PLICO) after a nine-year tenure as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. He served as board member for the Oklahoma Association of Life Insurance Companies and the Oklahoma Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association in addition to State Vice President of the American Council of Life Insurance. Prior to PLICO, Amini was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for C.L. Frates and Company and First Life Assurance Company.
