Timmons spoke to local college students about the importance of the constitutionally protected 7th amendment right to trial by jury, and the vital role that everyday citizens can play by serving on juries.

"Unfortunately, too many Texans are unaware that the right to trial by jury is actually right guaranteed by our country's founding fathers," said Timmons. "That's why I am so honored to speak to Lone Star College Cy-Fair today. Victims of corporate wrongdoing, fraud, and even criminal defendants have a right to have their cases decided by a jury of their peers. It's a right guaranteed by the constitution, but people often feel too busy to serve on a jury. That is why I believe that as Texans and Americans, we owe it to the men and women who serve and sacrifice for our country to participate in the legal system," Timmons concluded.
