MnSP hires two for Commercial/Marketing team [The Daily Globe, Worthington, Minn.]

Oct. 21--BREWSTER -- Minnesota Soybean Processors last week announced the termination of its Management Services Agreement (MSA) with Bunge North America Inc., as well as two new recent hires to its Commercial/Marketing team.

Rob Hofstra is now serving as MnSP's commercial manager. Hofstra served MnSP in this same position for the past six years as a Bunge employee through the cooperative's MSA. He worked for Bunge for more than 16 years in various positions. Hofstra is charged with directing the future of MnSP's commercial team.

Tom Rodis has been appointed as Commodity Products and Risk Manager. Rodis has been in the industry for more than 20 years and has experience in both domestic and export meal trading. He has worked with various companies in the industry over the years and was most recently employed by Bunge in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he helped put together the original MSA between MnSP and Bunge.

MnSP had entered into its MGA with Bunge in 2007. Under that agreement, Bunge assisted MnSP in developing its own management services and financial team and provided MnSP commercial and risk management services.

With an increased financial stability and experienced management, commercial and operational teams in place, MnSP requested -- and Bunge agreed -- to terminate the MSA effective Sept. 30. Effective Oct. 1, the MnSP Commercial and Management team became responsible for all commercial and risk management activities for MnSP's 100,000-bushels-per-day soybean crush facility and its biodiesel operations.
