Michael Daoussis Joins Countrywide Insurance Group To Head-Up National Construction Insurance Effort

IRVINE, CA - May 5, 2005 - Countrywide Insurance Group today announced that Michael S. Daoussis has joined the organization as senior vice president of its commercial lines national construction practice. Daoussis will focus on expanding the retail agency operations of Countrywide Insurance Services, Inc. by adding experienced construction producers and support staff in key construction markets across the country.
Daoussis brings nearly three decades of experience working with businesses and insurance companies in the construction industry. In addition to placing insurance for businesses in real estate development and residential construction, he has created proprietary liability insurance products for contractors involved with residential construction in California and Nevada.
"Mike is a seasoned professional who brings in a wide range of experience with insurance companies and the contractors they serve," said Dave Kuhn, executive vice president, Commercial Lines, Countrywide Insurance Group. "His knowledge of the industry will play a vital role in expanding our commercial lines business."
Prior to joining Countrywide Insurance Group, Daoussis served as head of the construction division of Lockton Insurance Brokers, Inc. in Los Angeles. He also served as casualty manager for Guy Carpenter, Inc., where he obtained reinsurance for carriers insuring large construction and engineering firms and projects. Daoussis began his career in risk management for Litton Industries. For his new position within Countrywide Insurance Group, Daoussis will be based in the company’s Irvine, California location.
