PENNSYLVANIA New federal data confirms what healthcare experts have been warning of: 5 million Americans have lost their health insurance after Donald Trump and congressional Republicans chose to let health insurance premiums skyrocket a decision Stacy Garrity believes was "absolutely the right thing to do."

These new numbers come as Pennsylvania continues to see the devastating consequences of MAGA Republicans' cruel healthcare cuts that Garrity has "100% confidence" in. More than 160,000 Pennsylvanians have already dropped their health insurance as higher premiums forced families to choose between healthcare and paying for basic necessities.

"Stacy Garrity cheered on her MAGA allies' healthcare cuts saying they were 'absolutely the right thing to do' and now Americans in Pennsylvania and all across the country are paying the price," said Ava Pitruzzello, spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. "Stacy Garrity has made it clear that when it comes to standing up for Pennsylvanians or standing with Donald Trump, she'll always choose Trump no matter the cost."

Here's what you need to know about Garrity's support for higher healthcare premiums:

When Trump and congressional Republicans chose not to extend the ACA tax credits at the end of 2025, Garrity said that it was "absolutely the right thing to do" and she had "100% confidence" that Republicans were "going down the right path" despite multiple reports that insurance premiums were set to more than double in the new year.

After Pennie announced that 85,000 Pennsylvanians nearly 1 in 5 enrollees dropped their health insurance during the open enrollment period due to premiums doubling thanks to legislation Garrity endorsed, Garrity doubled down in a TV interview on her support for the cruel Washington policies that caused healthcare costs to skyrocket.

As the number of Pennsylvanians being forced to drop their insurance jumps up every month since open enrollment ended from more than 104,000 in February to 130,000 at the beginning of April to now more than 160,000 in the first week of June Garrity has been called out for "not hav[ing] the courage to stand up for Pennsylvanians" facing spiking healthcare costs as Garrity proves she will always put her loyalty to Trump's disastrous agenda over standing up for the Commonwealth.
