Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids Applications Now Available Online

ATLANTA, Sept. 30 -- The Georgia Department of Human Services (formerly the Department of Human Resources) issued the following news release:

The Georgia Departments of Human Services and Community Health are pleased to announce the addition of the Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids(TM) applications to the COMPASS.GA.GOV website. Georgians will now have a simpler and more accessible application process for Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids with the inclusion of these electronic application options on COMPASS.GA.GOV.

In addition to the newly available online Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids applications, Georgia residents can continue to apply for Food Stamps (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Child Care and Parent Services (CAPS) using the single web portal. The PeachCare for Kids website, www.peachcare.org , will still be available for members who wish to renew their PeachCare for Kids benefits and pay any premiums to retain their coverage. PeachCare for Kids members may also continue to call 1-877-427-3224 to report any changes and ask questions about the status of their -benefits.

Georgians who are not eligible for Georgia Medicaid or PeachCare for Kids, but who are seeking potential health insurance options for themselves or their family should access the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM). The FFM, or health insurance exchange, can be accessed online at www.healthcare.gov or by calling 1-800-318-2596 or TTY: 1-855-889-4325.

Individuals who do not have Internet access or choose not to apply online can obtain a single paper Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids application by calling 1-877-423-4746 (for Medicaid) or 1-877-427-3224 (for PeachCare for Kids) to have an application mailed. Applications may also be obtained from their local county Division of Family and Children Services office. DFCS county contact information is available at www.dfcs.dhs.georgia.gov and clicking on the county of residence.
