McFarlane Joins AAPS as Director, Finance and Administration

ARLINGTON, Va., March 6 -- The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists issued the following news release:
The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is pleased to announce the arrival of Barrington (Barry) L. McFarlane, CPA, as its new Director, Finance and Administration. Prior to AAPS, McFarlane served in senior management positions at Special Olympics International, American Kidney Fund, The Wilderness Society, and The American Medical Group Association, among others.
"With over 15 years of association, auditing, and foundation financial management experience, in addition to being a CPA, Barry has the business expertise and skill set to move AAPS forward," said John Lisack, Jr., CAE. "We are very excited to welcome him to our team." McFarlane will oversee all financial affairs of the association to include, but not limited to, financial reporting, financial planning, budgeting, tax compliance, oversight of overall accounting functions, and internal controls. He will also direct the organization's accounting practices, its relationship with banking and investment institutions and facilities operations. McFarlane received his Master of Business Administration from Cornell University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
