Markel American Insurance Company Promotes Fishing with Kids During National Fishing and Boating Week [Manufacturing Close – Up]

National Fishing and Boating Week is a national celebration of fishing and boating that coincides with most states' free fishing days.
According to the 2011 Outdoor Recreation Participation Report, fishing (fresh, salt, and fly) was the 4th most popular youth outdoor activity for individuals between the ages of 6 and 24 with approximately 15 million participants or an 18.8 percent participation rate last year.
In a release, the company noted that same study found that for adults aged 25 and older, fishing (fresh, salt, and fly) was the most popular adult outdoor activity with approximately 31.2 million participants or a 15.1 percent participation rate.
"The greatest memories I have are fishing with my dad," says 13 time Bassmaster Qualifier and host of the TV Show "One More Cast",
While fishing is popular pastime for both youths and adults alike, the combined participation rate over the past three years has declined an average of approximate 7.3 percent.
