MD Now Urgent Care, Continues Its South Florida Expansion Into the City of Plantation

PR Web

Plantation, Florida (PRWEB) October 16, 2013

MD Now Urgent Care, South Florida’s largest and finest medical provider of urgent care and occupational medicine services, is continuing its expansion by opening its newest location in Broward County, Florida. The center is the eleventh location to open in the State of Florida since the walk-in healthcare services company was first established in 2004 by its CEO and Medical Director, Peter Lamelas, MD, MBA.

Since then, this popular healthcare care company has been growing rapidly in order to meet the increasing demand for its fast, convenient and cost effective medical services. MD Now is on its way to having upwards of 30 Urgent Care Centers throughout South Florida by 2015, according to Dr Lamelas.

MD Now provides fast walk-in Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine and Healthcare services in Florida, and with the addition of its Plantation location, MD Now has officially become the largest independent non-hospital Urgent Care in all of South Florida. MD Now has multiple licensed, certified and accredited facilities - all accepting major medical insurance - located throughout Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade County, Florida.

MD Now Urgent Care Centers are all State of Florida licensed Urgent Care Centers. The Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) has designated MD Now as one of the few Certified Urgent Care Centers in Florida. In addition to their official national Urgent Care certification, MD Now Urgent Care Centers have also earned an accreditation for quality from the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM).

"We look forward to meeting the increasing demand created by our patients who are looking for a faster and less expensive, high quality alternative to the busy crowded Hospital ER's and their long waits to see a primary care doctor. Our fast, affordable, community Urgent Care services have created a better patient experience - while saving our patients both time and money," says Dr Lamelas.

Designed for “life’s little emergencies”, MD Now operates multiple full-service, urgent care walk-in facilities which provide urgent medical care, extended hours primary care, occupational medicine, physical therapy and comprehensive healthcare services, every day of the year. At MD Now there is always a doctor onsite, and any all appropriate medical evaluations, diagnostic services and treatments are provided at a fraction of the cost of any hospital Emergency Room.

Due to recent governmental changes in the general public’s access to healthcare, the company is positioning itself for increased growth. But, it attributes its ongoing success to its patient-friendly environment and its ability to offer a differentiated healthcare alternative by providing fast, high quality, timely and affordable medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries and illnesses on the patient’s own schedule, with convenient evening and weekend hours.

MD Now Medical Centers’ state-of-the-art medical facilities are all open 12 hours a day, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – including every evening, weekend and holiday.

All centers are staffed at all times with a licensed credentialed physician who is supported by a friendly medical team. Most major types of health insurances are accepted – including Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross / Blue Shield, Humana, Molina, Avmed, Amerigroup, Medicare, Work, Auto, Travel Insurance and others, however medical insurance is never required and there are affordable posted discounted self pay rates.

MD NOW provides a wide spectrum of comprehensive medical services including, but not limited to, treating seasonal flu viruses, colds and sinus infections, sore throats, and bronchitis to the treatment of rashes, wounds/abscesses, burns, strains/sprains, minor fractures, work and sports injuries. All MD Now Urgent Care locations are equipped to provide digital X-rays, on-site lab work, drug screens, alcohol and DNA testing, school, sports and work physical exams, flu shots, immunizations, auto injuries, sports and “on-the-job” injuries, Workers Comp and all types of occupational medical service and all have fully equipped procedure rooms for laceration repairs, IV fluids and treatment of fractures and other minor injuries.

The new MD Now Plantation Urgent Care facility will also offer Physical Therapy and select Diagnostic Imaging services as an added convenience to their patients in need of those services.

MD Now Urgent Care Centers all provide a fast low-cost alternative to the emergency room, convenient walk-in service, with no appointment necessary and shorter overall wait times. Instead of waiting hours and spending thousands of dollars in a hospital Emergency Room, or waiting days for a routine doctor’s appointment, MD Now Urgent Care’s patients can expect convenient, friendly, fast and affordable medical care for "life's little emergencies," and most non-life threatening injuries and illnesses in a safe and private environment.
