Oct. 26--Luciano "Lou" Tribuiani, 48, of Middletown Township, N.J., a sports producer and youth sports coach, died Saturday, Oct. 20, in Charlotte, N.C., after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Tribuiani was in Charlotte to cover the Dallas Cowboys-Carolina Panthers game. For the last six years, he had been sideline producer for Tony Siragusa, a former NFL defensive tackle who is field analyst for NFL games on the Fox network.

Previously, Mr. Tribuiani had worked in the insurance industry in the Philadelphia area, including for Aetna, Sedgwick Claims Management Services, and Marsh & McLennan Agency.

A native of Tortoreto, Italy, he immigrated to the United States with his family when he was 4. He grew up in Upper Darby, where he attended St. Alice's School.

After graduating from St. Joseph's Preparatory School, he earned a bachelor's degree from Villanova University in 1986.

"Lou's deepest passion was sports, especially basketball," his family wrote in a tribute.

He played basketball at St. Alice's and at St. Joseph's Prep, and while at the Prep helped coach at St. Alice's. He went on to coach basketball at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield and was head basketball coach at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown from 2000 to 2004.

After moving from Chester County to Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, Mr. Tribuiani was an assistant coach at Red Bank Catholic High School for several years.

"Lou was most proud of the relationships he fostered with hundreds of players and cherished the friendships that were made with coaches," his family said.

He was very involved with his daughters' sports and activities and had coached his younger daughter on the girls' varsity basketball team at St. James Elementary School in Red Bank.

Mr. Tribuiani enjoyed summers at the Jersey Shore with his family and friends. He was a lifelong fan of the Eagles, Phillies, and Villanova basketball.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Laurie Leary Tribuiani; daughters Tiffany and Taylor; his mother, Emilia Tribuiani; and two brothers.

Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Holy Family Church, 234 Hermitage St., Philadelphia. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple Township.

Donations may be made to Red Bank Catholic Office of Advancement, c/o Lou Tribuiani Memorial Fund, 112 Broad St., Red Bank, N.J. 07701.
