Lombard Family Lawyer Appointed to Illinois State Bar Association Board of Governors

Lombard family lawyer Chantelle A. Porter, a Senior Associate Attorney at A. Traub & Associates, has been appointed as a member-at-large to the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) Board of Governors.

As a member of the Board of Governors, Porter will serve a two-year term. The 27 members on the Board of Governors oversee the operations and management of the ISBA. The Board helps ensure the association adheres to the general policies set by the member assembly. The ISBA is comprised of 33,000 members across the state of Illinois with offices in both Springfield and Chicago. The ISBA provides professional services to Illinois lawyers and legal professionals, and offers educational services to the general public through their website, brochures and distribution of legal information.

Lombard family attorney Chantelle A. Porter received her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2006 and earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 2003. As a Senior Associate at A. Traub & Associates, Porter focuses her legal practice on family law, juvenile criminal defense, DCFS abuse and neglect, orders of protection, landlord tenant law and civil litigation defense. Porter is a court approved Guardian ad litem for the 18th Judicial Circuit.

Prior to joining A. Traub & Associates, Porter worked as a Supervisor of the DuPage County Public Defender's Office Juvenile Division. Porter also spent time with the Cook County Public Guardian where she represented juveniles as an attorney and Guardian ad litem for abuse, neglect and dependency cases.

In addition to the ISBA, Porter is an active member of several local professional associations. She is Immediate Past President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, and is an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association and the American Inns of Court-DuPage Chapter. Porter has also served on the Board for the DuPage County Bar Foundation.

Porter has earned many notable recognitions within the legal community over the past few years including: DuPage County Bar Association 2008 B.R.I.E.F. Women to Watch, DuPage County Bar Association Outstanding Service Award and the DuPage County Bar Association Pro Bono Service Award. Porter has also been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for three straight years since 2012 based on her high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
