International Summit on Secondary Markets for Life Insurance
MUNICH and BERLIN, December 23 /PRNewswire/ -- In cooperation with ManagementCircle, the German association for Secondary Markets for Life Insurance, BVZL, will host the 6th International Summit "Secondary Markets for Life Insurance" on March 2nd and 3rd, 2010. The conference will be located at the Marriott Hotel in Berlin, Germany (www.berlinmarriott.com). The conference program will be perfectly supplemented by some excellent networking events including the ceremony of the Annual BVZL Journalism Award in the evening of March 2nd.
Come and take advantage of the largest specialist conference concerning "Secondary Markets for Life Insurance" in Europe to hear about and to discuss news, trends and market opportunities concerning Secondary Markets for Life Insurance with international industry experts coming from emission houses, distributors, investment and consulting companies, banks and insurance companies.
A series of excellent speakers - together with conference chair and BVZL chairman Thomas Laumont - will discuss the following aspects
- Life Insurance as an asset class - Regulation for closed (and open) end funds - Portfolio evaluation on the secondary market - New investor markets in Asia or elsewhere - Sharia-compliant secondary market - How do core markets in Germany, UK and the US develop? - Where does the Japanese Secondary Market stand? - How does the funds' market develop?
In addition to this 6th International Summit, the BVZL will organize a US-Special-Day on Thursday, March 4th (9.00 am - 2.00 pm), also at the Marriott Hotel in Berlin.
The mission statement for this US-Special-Day is to analyze what has happened to the business of US Life Settlement Investments in Germany and Europe over the last couple of years, to describe the current situation as well as to address the problems and the challenges this industry has to deal with over here today. Within the framework of a panel discussion, the panelists and the audience will be presented controversial theses and will be invited to an open and hopefully just as controversial discussion.
The intention is to develop specific ideas and measures to regain the trust in the asset class of US Life Settlements, help to correct some misrepresentations in the past, to improve the public perception of this industry and finally to reawaken the appetite of German and European investors for investments in this asset class, which should be in the interest of all participants of this US-Special-Day. It will be interesting to learn more about the different views of the different lobby groups and to see how and to what extent they would be willing to contribute to achieve a revitalization of US Life Settlement Investments coming from Germany and other countries all over Europe.
At the end of this US-Special-Day, BVZL would like to present a specific action plan, which was developed and approved by the participants and should then be implemented as quickly as possible.
