International Biophysics Corporation Announces Ownership Rights and Patent Protection for AffloVest®, the First Self-Contained Portable High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation (HFCWO) Vest in the United States

PR Newswire Association LLC

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --  International Biophysics Corporation of Austin, Texas announces its filing of U.S. patent protection for its revolutionary AffloVest®.  The company has also recently confirmed exclusive ownership rights concerning the manufacture, sale and distribution of the AffloVest in its markets.  The AffloVest® is the first self-contained, truly portable High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation (HFCWO) vest available in the United States, having both FDA 510(k) market clearance and CE mark.  Furthermore, the AffloVest is approved by Medicare, Medicaid and private health insurance reimbursement.  The AffloVest is available through local HMEs/DMEs and Hospitals. AffloVest provides daily portable treatment for respiratory diseases such as Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis and similar related severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) ailments.

David Shockley, CEO of International Biophysics Corporation said, "The AffloVest both re-invents and advances a 30-year-old treatment therapy, bringing HFCWO therapy to home care use in a modernized way.  The AffloVest is portable, wearable and completely self-contained.  AffloVest provides independence for patients during their breathing treatments.  With variable intensity settings and multiple treatment modes, AffloVest brings affordable, customized treatment to patients with chronic illnesses like Cystic Fibrosis and a severe form of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease called Bronchiectasis.  We are proud to have AffloVest as a part of our growing product portfolio."

Patients who have switched to AffloVest are providing positive feedback and getting results.   John from Ohio said, "I told my wife my score (pulmonary function test) and her first comment was this…"WOW, the last time you were 80% was when I met you back in high school!" Bill Clark, COPD Advocate, said, "When I first encountered the AffloVest, I was actually blown away."
