Interactive Data Selects KVH Proximity Solutions to Further Expand Ultra-Low Latency Trading Infrastructure in Japan

Supporting Evolving High-Frequency Trading Needs on a Global Scale

TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Interactive Data Corporation, a leading provider of financial market data, analytics and related solutions, and KVH Co. Ltd, Japan’s leading information delivery platform providing IT and communication solutions, today announced that Interactive Data 7ticks has selected “KVH Proximity Solutions,” consisting of low-latency networks, data center services and proximity facilitation services, to further extend its ultra-low latency trading infrastructure services in Japan. Leveraging KVH solutions to support a full ecosystem of trading participants, Interactive Data 7ticks’ services are designed to provide global and local traders with ultra-low latency connections and proximity hosting services in Japan, with access to major exchanges in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, Chicago, Toronto, London, and Frankfurt.

With major Japanese exchanges introducing next generation trading platforms and revising their trading schemes, the high-frequency trading (HFT) environment in Japan is evolving rapidly. To address escalating market demand for HFT and facilitate electronic trading in Japan, Interactive Data 7ticks is applying its global capabilities and deep understanding of the markets, and is utilizing KVH Proximity Solutions to assist market participants in plugging into the ultra-low latency trading infrastructure, helping in their latency-sensitive trading. The solutions are also designed to allow traders to gain direct access to Interactive Data’s wide-range of real-time global market data services provided via PlusFeedSM, its low-latency, consolidated global data feed.

“The HFT market in Japan represents a significant opportunity for the international investment and trading community,” said John Heflin, senior vice president of global operations for Interactive Data 7ticks. “We are utilizing our expertise in providing global managed ultra-low latency IT services, combined with extensive global market data services, to further extend our reach in Japan. We are delighted to be working with KVH as a valuable provider to both domestic and overseas high-frequency traders. By further extending our capabilities to key financial markets across the globe, we are reinforcing our commitment to help meet the evolving needs of our growing institutional client base for electronic trading.”

“We are very pleased that Interactive Data has selected KVH Proximity Solutions for expanding its services in Japan,” said Dr. Zhongmin Guo, executive vice president, International Division of KVH. “Interactive Data brings great value to KVH's Proximity Solutions and to our Plug & Trade concept. Market participants are now able to simply plug into a full-featured managed platform, which is connected to a full ecosystem of exchanges, brokers, ISVs, and market data vendors from a single location. Using this platform, our customers reap all the benefits of a one-stop ultra-low latency solution.”
