Insurance Administrative Solutions (IAS) Hires Thomas Myers as Client Controller
The new position will expand the portfolio of services IAS offers its insurance company clients.
Largo, FL (May 2, 2012) – Insurance Administrative Solutions announced today that it has hired Thomas Myers as Client Controller. Myers will oversee various controller-related functions for IAS’s insurance carrier clients, including annual and quarterly statement accounting and filing, premium tax reporting, unclaimed property reporting and various state reporting requirements.
The new position will allow IAS to offer its clients an alternative to their home office accounting functions, thereby reducing overhead costs while still maintaining the highest levels of financial and accounting standards.
“As a company, we are always striving to enhance our platform of third-party administration services,” said Randy Samples, President of IAS. “We brought Tom on board because of his deep level of experience working at the highest levels within home office accounting and finance departments. He knows how they work, and he understands their needs.”
Myers holds his B.S in Accounting and is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute. He has more than 20 years of experience preparing accounting and financial reporting packages for more than 25 companies. His expertise includes GAAP, financial statement preparation, variance analysis, pro forma financials for new insurance companies, group life & health budget and forecasting, and risk based capital calculations. Myers has held senior-level positions at Genworth Financial, CNA, Great West and, most recently, One Life America.
“Bringing on a new team member of Tom’s caliber demonstrates our commitment to our customers,” said Victor Castellanos, IAS’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “It is important to us to be able to adapt to the specific needs and processes of our customers, rather than the other way around. Tom understands our culture and will help us continue offering our clients unparalleled third-party administration expertise.”
IAS administers all types of life and health products with particular emphasis on Medicare Supplement plans. The third-party administrator has clients across the country, ranging from small to very large insurance entities. The combined in-force blocks of MedSupp lives that IAS currently services rival the largest carriers in the country.
The company’s successful business model allows it to provide customized solutions to each client’s unique needs. Whether from an underwriting, compliance, IT, or accounting standpoint, the basic value proposition IAS offers insurance carriers is the ability to piggyback on its economies of scale and do more with less.
