Infinite Skills’ “ComptTIA Security+ SY0-401 (2014 Objectives) Tutorial” Provides Comprehensive Exam-Based Training On IT Security Fundamentals

PR Web

(PRWEB) September 17, 2014

Software training firm Infinite Skills Inc. last week released its "CompTIA Security+ SY0-401 (2014 Objectives) Tutorial", a certification preparation course providing comprehensive training on the objectives required for achieving certification of fundamental competency in the security area of the IT field.

CompTIA is an non-profit technology and philanthropy organization, providing training and certification for potential technology employees. In 2007, its certifications became recognized by the American National Standards Institute.

The Security+ exam covers the full range of fundamental topics involved in securing networks and data, beginning with learning to understand and assess security risks, and advancing into the technical details of network security and monitoring.

Infinite Skills' "CompTIA Security+ SY0-4-1 220-802 (2014 Objectives) Training Course" provides a detailed and comprehensive guide to the exam, following along directly with published exam objectives.

Course author Mark Long is a trainer, consultant, and technical writer, specializing in information technology. He has worked in IT for more than 25 years, beginning in data and physical security. He worked for 18 years at BellSouth Telecommunications, where he was as a trainer, developer, network architect, and data security specialist.

Long begins by providing an overview of security and security risks, looking at assessment and calculation, policies and guidelines, and risk management, before introducing the essentials of security: authentication, authorization, and access.

Long then covers network devices, explaining basic protocols, firewalls, working with routers, and more, along with the elements of network design, including layering, DMZ, virtual LANs, and so on.

As the course advances, he explains the basic types of security threats, and how to secure networks at various levels, including securing applications, hosts, data, and security issues in the cloud.

Closing chapters look at cryptography, network monitoring, security administration, and disaster recovery, among others.

"We'll look at every aspect of the Security+ exam, and focus on the objectives you need to to pass the exam and achieve certification," Long says."

The course will give you the knowledge you need, not only to break into the IT world, but to instantly become a useful team member once you are there."

Free demo videos and a full list of course contents can be found on the "CompTIA Security+ SY0-401 (2014 Objectives) Tutorial" page of the Infinite Skills website:
