Heffernan Portland Branch Hires Timothy Nielsen, Senior Vice President & Branch Manager

PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Heffernan Insurance Brokers, one of the largest full-service, independent insurance brokerage firms in the United States, recently hired Timothy Nielsen to join its Portland office as Senior Vice President and Branch Manager, focusing on new business development and sales management.

Nielsen has had almost two decades of executive experience leading successful sales teams, along with selling and servicing commercial and employee benefits insurance. He successfully developed comprehensive and cost-effective insurance programs for specialty classes, including moving & storage and fire sprinkler contractors. Formerly President and CEO of a Portland-based insurance brokerage, he was instrumental in agency sales campaign development, and also led the expansion of the firm's risk management practice.
