Heffernan Insurance Brokers named a Top Corporate Philanthropist in the Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO, July 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Heffernan Insurance Brokers, one of the largest full-service, independent insurance brokerage firms in the United States, is pleased to announce that it was named a 'Top Corporate Philanthropist' in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times. The awards were announced Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Hilton in San Francisco.

Heffernan Foundation, the Charitable Giving Program of Heffernan Insurance Brokers, donated over $450,000 to Bay Area-based charities and cash giving per Bay Area employee was $1,607. Companywide cash giving as a percentage of profit was 16.34 percent. As a result, the Foundation was one of 20 companies who received the Community Commitment Award which is presented to companies that give back more than one percent of profit.
