HCA Announces Two Appointments to the Regulation Committee

BIRMINGHAM, England, July 30 -- England's Homes and Communities Agency issued the following news:

Two non-executive members have been appointed to the Homes and Communities Agency's Regulation Committee, following open competition conducted by the Department for Communities and Local Government. They are:

- Ceri Richards

- Sarah Wall

Ceri Richards is the Chief Investment Officer at Laing O'Rourke, responsible for Treasury, Investments and Corporate Finance, and has enjoyed a 20 year career in banking. Sarah Wall is Head of Asset/Liability Risk at Pension Insurance Corporation, with a specialism is in risk analysis, credit rating and investment in asset-backed and structured lending.

Commenting on the appointments, Housing Minister Brandon Lewis said: "Sarah Wall and Ceri Richards will bring extensive commercial and finance experience to the role. Their skills and knowledge will prove highly valuable to the Homes and Communities Agency in its work to create and maintain the right conditions for new housing supply."

Julian Ashby, Chair of the HCA Regulation Committee, said: "The social housing sector is becoming increasingly complex and we need high calibre people with the right mix of financial, legal and commercial business expertise. Ceri and Sarah's skills and knowledge will prove highly valuable to the Regulation Committee in its work to safeguard the financial viability of the sector."

The appointments are due to start on 1 August 2014 and end on 31 July 2017. Remuneration for HCA Regulation Committee members is Pounds11,000 per annum for 2 days per month.
