Guardian Names Michael Martocci to Its Group Benefits Management Team [Professional Services Close – Up]
Proquest LLC
The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian), a mutual life insurer and a provider of employee benefits, announced that Michael Martocci has joined the Group Benefits management team as 2nd Vice President, Worksite Markets.
This appointment follows several enhancements to Guardian's worksite offerings which will further position the voluntary business for accelerated growth, the Company noted in a release.
"As health care reform accelerates employers' disengagement from traditional employee benefit offerings, Guardian is preparing for the changing landscape through ongoing product development and adding to the roster of talented leaders that help us maintain our role as an industry leader in the group benefits market," said Chris Swanker, Vice President of Worksite and Specialty Markets. "This new position will help us expand our already sizeable share of the voluntary market and underscores our commitment to continuing to build out our portfolio to ensure we have the products that employers and brokers need."
Guardian said that Martocci will lead its planned expansion in the Worksite market. He joins Guardian from ING, where he served as Regional Director of the Mid-Atlantic region for Worksite and Voluntary products. Prior to that, his vast experience in employee benefits is highlighted by leadership roles in product development and sales at AFLAC, Colonial Life and AIG.
