Great American’s Trucking Division Expands Key Executive Roles

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Great American Insurance Group has expanded responsibilities for three key executives in its Trucking Division, announced this week by Divisional President Mark Calkin. “We periodically assess our organization to ensure that all employees’ strengths are being utilized to their fullest potential,” Calkin said, as he explained the new roles being assigned to Randal Smith, Rob Parrett and Tim Clinton. “We feel that these changes will enable us to continue to move Great American forward as a leader in the Trucking Insurance industry.”

Randal Smith, currently serving Great American as Vice President of the Trucking Division’s Western Profit Center, will now assume the role of Divisional Product and Underwriting Officer previously held by Calkin. Mr. Smith will also manage the Division’s Captive and Dealer/Lender Profit Centers. He has been with Great American’s Trucking Division for over 12 years. Mr. Smith earned BBA and MBA degrees in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and brought extensive product and agency experience to Great American when he joined the company in 2000.

Rob Parrettis now the Trucking Division’s National Marketing Manager, responsible for the Division’s relationship with its 125-member agency force. Mr. Parrett will also lead the Division’s business development team and manage its marketing campaigns. He brings more than 23 years experience in the trucking and transportation industries to his new role. Prior to joining Great American in 2002, Mr. Parrett worked with Transportation Insurance Specialists, a Florida-based MGA, for 11 years.

Tim Clintonwill now have oversight of both the Eastern and Western Profit Centers as Divisional Vice President, assuming responsibility for the Western region previously held by Randal Smith in addition to his own as existing Vice President of the Eastern Profit Center. Mr. Clinton has served Great American’s Trucking Division for over 14 years in a variety of roles, including Business Developer, Product Manager and Marketing / Underwriting Manager. Mr. Clinton earned a BA in English from the University of Buffalo and an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati. He has also received his CPCU designation.
