Governor McCrory Appoints Special Superior Court Judge

RALEIGH, N.C., June 27 -- Gov. Pat McCrory, R-N.C., issued the following news release:

Governor Pat McCrory has appointed Louis A. Bledsoe III as a Special Superior Court Judge, for a term beginning July 1, 2014. Chief Justice Sarah Parker plans to designate Bledsoe as a Special Superior Court Judge for Complex Business Cases at the beginning of his term. He will then preside in the Charlotte Business Court for a five-year term.

"Louis Bledsoe's extensive experience in business and commercial litigation makes him well-suited for the Business Court," said Governor McCrory. "He has developed a great reputation as a litigator and has earned the trust and respect of many members of the Bar. He will be an outstanding judge for our state's Business Court."

Bledsoe is a partner with the law firm of Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A. where he is the chair of the business development committee. During his 30 year career, he has been involved in multiple areas of business litigation, including contract disputes, banking, insurance, and other corporate matters. He has represented clients throughout the country in state and federal courts.

He has been selected each year since 2007 as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" by Woodward/White, Inc. for commercial litigation and has been recognized as a leading North Carolina litigation attorney by Benchmark Litigation since 2010.

Bledsoe attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his undergraduate degree, where he was a Morehead Scholar. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School.
