Gabriella Aims High With The Help of David Lloyd Leisure Southampton
David Lloyd Leisure Southampton has become the main training ground for the UK’s under 12’s Tennis number one, Gabriella Taylor.
(PRWeb UK) July 16, 2010 -- Gabriella’s tennis career began at eight years old, when she started competing and winning matches in the U12’s age category. At the 2010 Tennis Europe event in Bressuire France, Gabriella beat the French, Spanish and Algerian number one’s in her age group to win both the doubles and singles titles. These acclaimed junior wins have earned Gabriella a highly regarded position within the Lawn Tennis Association and positioned her in the AEGON future stars programme, as one of the best juniors in the country.
This sporting success does not come without hard work as Gabriella says ‘I have to work really hard’. She trains six hours a day with her trainer David Lloyd Leisure’s Dave Ison, balancing the fine act of intensive training with every-day school work. ‘ A normal day starts at about 7am, breakfast, a little bit of study and a-half hours of tennis, lunch, fitness, tennis again, then education until 6.30’.
Her coach Dave Ison commented on Gabriella’s tennis ability ‘Gabriella works extremely hard to get to her number one position. The tennis facilities at Southampton David Lloyd Leisure give her the opportunity to vary her work outs; providing the right training environment for Gabriella to reach her full potential’
David Lloyd Leisure Southampton is the leading Club in the Leisure Group’s ‘All Star Tennis Programme’ which encourages young people to participate in Tennis. The initiative has proved a great success, attracting over one hundred and fifty thousand members nationally.
David Little, the Deputy Manager at David Lloyd Southampton said ‘’It is great to see Gabriella use the David Lloyd tennis facilities, its her main training base. Being so successful at such a young age, Gabriella is an inspiration to all young people involved in the All Star Tennis Programme.’’
The David Lloyd Health Club and Gym in Southampton has a total of eighteen tennis courts and offers world-class coaching.
