Foremost Insurance Enhances Dwelling Fire Program in South Carolina

Grand Rapids, MI (Vocus/PRWEB) February 15, 2011

Foremost Insurance Group has improved its Dwelling Fire program in South Carolina. Foremost® targets standard and preferred landlord business with new policies and endorsements, broader underwriting and larger discounts specifically for landlords.

“We have the broadest appetite in the marketplace and we specialize in this business,” says Jerry Payne, Foremost zone executive director. “We are focused on providing the most competitive and valuable product for policyholders and agents, as well as exceptional service.”

Some highlights of the updated program include:

   •      New Dwelling Fire One and Dwelling Fire Three policies, similar to the ISO DP-1 and DP-3 policies.
   •     The settlement method is Agreed Loss. In the case of a covered total loss to the dwelling, the settlement will be the Amount of Insurance shown on the Declarations Page.
   •     Optional Extended Replacement Cost, including Ordinance or Law coverage, on the Dwelling Fire Three policies.
   •     Optional Repair Cost Endorsement that provides a repair cost settlement on Coverage A partial losses. Only available on Dwelling Fire Three – Owner-occupied.
   •     Water and Sewer Backup coverage is now available.
   •     Broader underwriting includes more customers and properties, including Vacation Rental properties.

New Discounts
Foremost has created new discounts that are specifically aimed at landlords, whether they rent out one property or several properties. “The new discounts are a great benefit to customers, offering a competitive price for quality coverage,” says Payne.

Foremost offers discounts for a variety of things including insurance scores; age of home; customers with another qualifying policy; members of USAA and Armed Forces Insurance; and landlords with more than one property insured with us, who use a property management company, are members of landlord associations or us or conduct tenant screening. (Some discounts apply only in certain territories.)

If agents have any questions about this updated program, they can contact their Foremost marketing representative.
