Financial Services Committee Announces Hearing Schedule for Week of Feb. 3

WASHINGTON- Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) today announced the committee's hearing schedule for next week.

Tuesday, February 4 at 10:00 A.M. - The Housing and Insurance Subcommittee will review the Federal Insurance Office's (FIO) recent report on modernizing insurance regulation. The Dodd-Frank Act established the FIO within the Treasury Department and required it to undertake a study of how to modernize and improve the system of insurance regulation.

Wednesday, February 5 at 10:00 A.M. - The Financial Services Committee will hold its second hearing this year to examine the harmful impact and unintended consequences of the recently finalized Volcker Rule. Witnesses scheduled to appear at this hearing are: Federal Reserve Governor Daniel Tarullo; Chair Mary Jo White of the Securities and Exchange Commission; Comptroller of the Currency Thomas Curry; Chairman Martin Gruenberg of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; and Acting Chairman Mark Wetjen of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Wednesday, February 5 at 2:00 P.M. - The Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will review the annual report of the Office of Financial Research with OFR Director Richard Berner.

The Committee's schedule is tentative and will depend upon witness availability and other factors that may require changes. Hearing notices and a list of witnesses for each hearing can be found online at financialservices.house.gov.
