Fort Bliss Museum and Study Center -- Building 1735, Marshall Road on Fort Bliss. The museum's exhibits illustrate the U.S. Army's Air Defense Artillery from World War I to Operation Desert Storm. Air-defense weapons of several countries are on display in the outdoor weapons park. Also on exhibit is the story of Fort Bliss from 1848 to the present, featuring personalities and activities in the Army's important relationship with El Paso. The museum also has a gift shop. --We list area art shows and exhibits weekly in Tiempo. Inclusion in the list is free.
--Artists, galleries or their representatives are invited to send information to Tiempo. Include: the name and a short description of the exhibit; participating artists; opening and closing dates; times and dates of receptions, gallery talks and other related events; the gallery or museum's name, address and phone number for publication; admission fee, if any; and a contact number, not for publication, of someone who can be reached if we have questions.
--You also may e-mail high-resolution jpeg-format photos of art that will be exhibited. Tell us the name of the piece and the name of the artist. Space for photos is limited, and we can't guarantee that they'll be run.
--E-mail the information to [email protected] or mail it to Tiempo Exhibits, Attn:"Melissa Martinez, P.O."Box 20, El Paso,"TX 79999.
--Deadline:"We must have the information by 5 p.m. Monday for publication that Friday.
--The list published in the newspaper is frequently cut because of space limitations, but we try to include all current exhibits. The entire list can be found online at www.elpasotimes.com.
