Edwards Wildman Admits 10 Lawyers to Partnership and Elevates Five to Counsel

BOSTON, Jan. 3 -- Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge issued the following news release:

Edwards Wildman is pleased to announce the admission of 10 lawyers to partnership. As of January 1, 2012, Mark Arnold, Simeon Brier, Juliane Dziobak, David Greenbaum, Kongsik Kim, William Lee, Marc Mantell, Christie Martin, Christine McCay, and Tim Walker became partners of the firm. In addition, Jesse Brody, Ethan Davis, Kevin Fleming, Paul Labov, and Robert Young have been appointed to the position of counsel. These new partners and counsel deserve recognition for the excellence they bring to the firm and to the legal profession.

New partners

Mark P. Arnold is a partner in the Business Law Department who bases his practice in the firm's office in West Palm Beach. Arnold focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions, and general corporate matters. He has experience in securities issues and other corporate finance transactions, representing both public and private companies in domestic and international matters.

A Litigation partner who bases his practice in West Palm Beach, Simeon D. Brier practices in the areas of complex civil and commercial litigation and labor and employment law. Brier's litigation practice has a practical emphasis on employment matters and contract disputes. He also has experience in the areas of construction litigation, product liability, government procurement and discrimination matters.

Juliane M. Dziobak, a Business Law partner in Boston, practices in the areas of commercial lending and commercial real estate. Her practice has a particular emphasis on media transactions, including transactions involving radio stations, cable television companies, and movie theaters. Dziobak also has experience advising financial institutions regarding statutory and regulatory obligations.

An Intellectual Property partner in New York, David I. Greenbaum counsels clients on trademark and design matters across a wide range of industries, including fashion, entertainment, beverage, and pharmaceutical. Along with trademark clearance, prosecution, and worldwide portfolio management, Greenbaum handles inter partes proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and he litigates disputes involving intellectual property in federal courts.

A Boston-based partner in the firm's Intellectual Property Department, Kongsik Kim counsels domestic and foreign clients in all aspects of intellectual property procurement and enforcement, including patents, trademarks and copyrights. His patent practice covers a wide range of technologies including chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, among many others.

William R. Lee, a Chicago-based Litigation partner, focuses on complex commercial and criminal litigation and investigations by federal and state authorities. An experienced commercial trial lawyer, Lee has tried, arbitrated, and mediated cases across a wide range of industries, including commercial real estate, securities, freight forwarding, video game distribution, automotive parts, and telecommunications.

Marc D. Mantell, who bases his Business Law practice in Boston, represents public and privately held companies and private equity investors in connection with mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and debt financings. He also regularly advises clients on SEC reporting compliance, stock exchange compliance and general corporate governance.

Christie Lombard Martin, a Boston partner in the Public Finance Department, advises government entities and 501(c)(3) organizations, as well as investment bankers and banks, in connection with the tax-exempt financing of a variety of projects for public and non-profit organizations. Her practice focuses on municipal finance-related federal tax law and includes general obligation bond financings, qualified 501(c)(3) private activity bond financings, tax revenue anticipation and other working capital financings.

A Business Law partner in Boston, Christine Dreyer McCay represents banks, finance companies, investment funds and other investors, as well as public and private companies, in a broad range of debt financing transactions, including syndicated credit facilities, second lien and subordinated debt financings, distressed debt investments, and restructuring and recapitalization transactions. In the Debt Finance & Capital Markets practice group, McCay acts as one of three senior attorneys in charge of associate training and group meeting content.

Tim Walker, a Chicago Litigation partner, focuses his practice on commercial and complex litigation. His experience includes litigation on behalf of national and international companies in a wide variety of cases involving contract disputes, trade secret misappropriation, trademark and patent infringement claims, counterfeiting, unfair competition, product liability matters, class actions, shareholder actions, and commercial disputes.

New counsel

Jesse M. Brody, an Intellectual Property counsel in Los Angeles, focuses on legal issues affecting entertainment, technology, advertising and privacy. His experience includes advising companies in matters that involve traditional television and film, interactive games and new media matters such as privacy policies, terms of use, user-generated content, social networks, downloadable software and commercial text messages. He represents a broad range of clients, including those in the industries of entertainment, new media, technology and consumer products.

A Boston-based counsel in the firm's Litigation Management Department, Ethan I. Davis focuses on general liability matters. In particular, Davis represents a Fortune 100 pharmacy chain in the defense of a variety of general liability matters, including claims of pharmacy malpractice, consumer fraud and premises liability, coordinating the defense of these claims nationally.

Kevin J. Fleming, a counsel in the Litigation Management Department who is based in Boston, focuses on the defense of toxic torts. Kevin has defended product manufacturers and distributors in product liability actions in both state and federal courts. His litigation experience also includes the defense of premises liability, liquor liability, and professional malpractice claims. Fleming has also handled commercial contract and construction disputes, in addition to cases in the areas of creditors' rights, insurance coverage, and employment.

Paul J. Labov, a New York counsel in the Restructuring and Insolvency Department, focuses his practice on bankruptcy-related matters such as the representation of insurance companies, chapter 11 trustees, indenture trustees, lending institutions, and debtors in all aspects of the administration of corporate debtors' estates, including the sale of corporate assets, labor and employment matters, and tax disputes. In addition, Labov handles various types of commercial litigation in both state and federal courts.

As a Boston-based counsel in the Litigation Department, Robert G. Young counsels and represents businesses, municipalities, educational institutions, other non-profit organizations and individuals in a broad range of employment and labor law issues. His practice includes litigation of employment-related claims in both state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.
