Dr. Alan Kanter, founder of Vein Center of Orange County, Receives Formal Varithena Certification

PR Web

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) June 30, 2014

Congratulations to Dr. Alan Kanter, who just received formal training certification on June 24, 2014 to administer Varithena. This makes him one of the first Southern California physicians to reach this landmark achievement, which means he will be among the very first "early adopters" allowed to administer Varithena to his patients when it becomes available later this summer.

Varithena microfoam is the newest FDA-approved treatment method for great saphenous veins and their varicose tributaries. It is a simple non-surgical office procedure that takes only 15 minutes, usually requires only a single painless injection, does not require anesthesia, and allows immediate return to normal activities. After initial office consultation with diagnostic ultrasound mapping, the Vein Center of Orange County in Irvine will work directly with a specialized support center to obtain pre-authorization to ensure predictable, optimal insurance reimbursement.

Having helped pioneer the development of ultrasound-guided (liquid) injections back in the early 1990's, Dr. Kanter has been performing these procedures longer than any physician in Southern California. Because of this experience, he was asked to serve on Varithena's exploratory physician panel gathered to direct its initial development almost fourteen years ago. Becoming one of the first doctors to offer Varithena is therefore a logical and natural step for Dr. Kanter.

For more information including the advantages of Varithena, see our previous blog on this topic. For a vein screening, call VCOC and Dr. Kanter at 949-551-8855 today!
