Deborah L. Michel to Lead Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Major Accounts and Helmsman TPA

Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Deborah L. Michel executive vice president, Commercial Markets, general manager, Major Accounts and president of Helmsman Management Services, the insurer's wholly-owned third party administrator (TPA) (see also Liberty Mutual Insurance).

In her new role, Michel leads Liberty Mutual Insurance's sales and service organization targeting the largest commercial insurance customers - who have total annual cost of risk of $20 million or more - and Helmsman Management Services, a TPA offering integrated claims, managed care and loss control services. Liberty Mutual Insurance's Commercial Markets strategic business unit distributes its products exclusively through brokers and agents.

Prior to her new position, Michel was executive vice president and general manager of Commercial Markets' Midwest Division, where she oversaw a sales and service operation targeting large and mid-sized companies throughout the region. She also held a number of senior leadership positions in sales, account management, finance and claims.
