Crystal Run Healthcare Hosts Inaugural New York Regional Accountable Care Organization Summit

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y., Oct. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- On October 13-14, 2014, Crystal Run Healthcare hosted its inaugural New York Regional Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Summit. The Summit was designed to help new and prospective ACOs learn from the experience of regional ACO leaders. The event engaged more than 125 physicians and healthcare executives from throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut for a two-day discussion of strategies, informed by the experience of ACO pioneers, including Crystal Run Healthcare.

The audience of professionals, leaders, and decision-makers included representatives of leading regional health care organizations, insurance providers, vendors, community organizations, healthcare policy organizations, legislators, congress and media.

Crystal Run Managing Partner & CEO Hal Teitelbaum, MD, JD, MBA, kicked off the Summit with a plenary session. Better Health: The Transformation Imperative outlined Crystal Run's journey to becoming an ACO. Crystal Run's early adoption of electronic health records and the philosophy of value-based care allowed it to become a leader among ACOs.

The summit concluded with a panel session with leaders from a cross-section of healthcare, government, and policy organizations. The session outlined state and local issues and legal challenges to the Affordable Care Act.
