March 13--Apollo Health Street, a Clifton health technology company, has been acquired by Sutherland Global Services of Rochester, N.Y.

The company's Clifton office will remain open under the Sutherland name, and none of the 300 jobs there will be moved or eliminated, according to a Sutherland spokesman, Brad Rye.

The two companies did not release financial details of the transaction.

Apollo Health Street, founded in 1999, is a subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals Group, an India-based health care company that runs hospitals, pharmacies, clinics and health insurance companies. Apollo Health Street, with a total of 3,000 employees, outsources many of its information-technology services overseas.

The companies said the deal will allow the joint company to address the challenges of health care reform, including health insurance exchanges.

The acquisition "strengthens our portfolio of payer, provider and health information technology solutions," said Dilip R. Vellodi, founder and CEO of Sutherland Global Services.

Sutherland Global Services, established in 1986, says it is one of the largest independent health technology outsourcing companies in the world. The company has more than 30,000 employees globally, working out of 35 operations sites in the United States, Philippines, India and other nations.
