Recent Ceridian data shows that offering EAP support and wellness tools are effective in reducing workforce stress and lost productivity. Of more than 30,000 Ceridian EAP participants surveyed last year, more than 80 percent said they were less stressed; 67 percent reported less absenteeism; and 62 percent said they improved their productivity as a result of the program.
The survey also found that EAPs can increase employee retention: 72 percent of respondents said they were now more likely to stay with their companies.
“Employers who add EAP, work-life and wellness tools to their benefits package can trim thousands of dollars from their budget, not only through increased employee engagement, but also through decreased insurance premiums as employees improve their health,” said
Allen said that also adding to these savings is the increase in HR and management productivity when employers channel employees’ personal problems through their EAP provider instead of through their staff members.
