CIGNA and Cancer Treatment Centers of America Reach New Agreement
Recognizing the importance of access, quality and choice for its many customers who have been touched by cancer, CIGNA expands access to all Cancer Treatment Centers of America physicians and facilities.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 13, 2010 -- Recognizing the importance of access, quality and choice for its many customers who have been touched by cancer, CIGNA has entered into a new agreement that opens the doors to comprehensive, integrative care at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA).
The new agreement, effective recently, provides millions of CIGNA customers nationwide with in-network access to more than 330 physicians across CTCA’s four affiliated cancer treatment facilities. CTCA serves patients with advanced cancer at facilities located in suburban Chicago, Philadelphia, Tulsa and suburban Phoenix.
“Medical decisions are some of the most important decisions we make in our lives,” said Quintin Baytop of Baltimore, Md., a CIGNA customer who is receiving treatment at CTCA. “This is a welcome choice for cancer patients. We need increased access to quality cancer care and more options when it comes to choosing a hospital that is right for each of us.”
The agreement aligns with CIGNA’s longstanding commitment as a champion for consumer choice and high-quality, comprehensive care for its customers.
“Cancer affects a growing population, and we are dedicated to empowering cancer patients and their families with increased choice and access to affordable, quality health care,” said Sue Podbielski, President, CIGNA HealthCare Midwest Markets. “The addition of CTCA to our national network gives CIGNA customers access to a model of care that focuses on the individual needs of cancer patients and improving their quality of life.”
