CGTC Hires New Director for Monroe County Center

MACON, Ga., Nov. 21 -- Central Georgia Technical College issued the following news release:

Tatrabian Jackson has been selected to serve as the new director of Central Georgia Technical College's (CGTC) Monroe County Center in Forsyth. As a native of the Monroe County area, Jackson looks forward to increasing awareness in the community of the services offered by CGTC and developing lasting relationships and solid partnerships.

Jackson has strong community ties in Monroe County having served as the chairperson for the Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and a former member of the Forsyth Planning and Zoning Commission.

"Being a native of the Forsyth-Monroe County area, I am truly excited about having the opportunity to help build relationships and increase the student enrollment at the Monroe County Center," said Jackson. "Through collaborative efforts we will educate our community and prepare students for viable employment."

CGTC offers credit and adult education courses at the Monroe County Center. In addition, the College focuses on economic development in the communities served by CGTC. Jackson will lead CGTC's efforts in Monroe County to help provide services to students and business partners in the community.

"We are glad to welcome Tatrabian to the CGTC family," said Joan Thompson, CGTC's vice president for Satellite Operations-South. "I am confident that Mrs. Jackson will work diligently in Monroe County to improve and enhance the education opportunities offered by CGTC."

Prior to coming to CGTC, Jackson was a business owner of Mortgage Brokers Express, Inc. and was a field trainer for Bankers Life and Casualty. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Information Technology from Macon State College and earned an Executive MBA from Wesleyan College. She also holds licenses in health and life insurance and is a certified long-term care specialist.

Jackson is a graduate of Leadership Monroe, a former member of Signature Community Management Committee, and past president of the Hubbard Alumni Association. She served as a community business partner in the SACS/COC accreditation process for the Monroe County School System and also serves as a mentor for youth.

She is married to Craig B. Jackson and they have one daughter, Traniecia.
