Belfry vs. Pikeville alumni football game

Aug. 14--Former Belfry High School football players will strap on the helmets and lace up the cleats for yet another alumni football game.

The former Pirates will take on Pikeville on Saturday, September 6 at CAM Stadium (Haywood Field).

The full contact game is being put on by Alumni Football USA.

Belfry and Pikeville played one game last year with former graduates. The Pirate veterans took a loss in the game and would like some revenge over Pikeville in another alumni contest.

Some of the players suiting up for Belfry include Doug Howard, David Jones, Gary Childers, Gary Runyon, Glen Earnest and Zane Smith. The youngest player for BHS is Cody Bostic at age 19, while the oldest players are Allen Hinkle at 48, Ricky Dotson at 50 and William Hunter at 49.

Several former Panthers will put the pads on for Pikeville's alumni squad. They include Tim Honaker, Eddie Deramus and many more.

The Alumni Football USA was started by former high school football player Bob Cazet- who realized that his dream of just playing one more game was shared by thousands of other guys. A former public school teacher, Bob saw that in tight ?nancial times, the schools, and particularly- the athletic programs, take the hardest hit. Alumni Football USA gets guys back in the football game they love while raising money for their schools.

-- How it Works: AFUSA rounds up former high school football players from your school and a rival school to play each other in one more big game!

-- Alumni Football USA Provides: All the Equipment, Field Liability

Insurance, Of?cials, Announcer, Chain Gang, EMTs, Security, Organization of Game Day- and over 20 years of experience putting on these awesome games!

-- What Your School Provides: The use of the football ?eld on game day.

-- What's in it for Your School: In return for the use of the football ?eld on game day, your school will get 50% of all pre-sale ticket sales your school sells! Schools may also sell concessions and raf?e tickets on game day which always prove to be very lucrative! Many schools earn thousands of dollars- in one night!

-- Since 2010 AFUSA has helped schools like yours raise over $400,000! It's one night. We do all the work, take care of all the details, and gather the community together for a fun event. We'd rather have a good old football game than a magazine subscription or a box of cookies any day- wouldn't you?
