Barry Weissman to Launch LA Insurance Practice of Edwards Wildman

BOSTON, Jan. 30 -- Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge issued the following news release:

The international law firm of Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP is pleased to announce that Barry Leigh Weissman has joined the firm as a partner in its Insurance and Reinsurance Department. Weissman will base his practice in the firm's office in Los Angeles.

Representing large national and international clients throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia, Weissman's practice includes regulatory and transactional services, reinsurance disputes and litigation matters in state and federal courts for both insurance and reinsurance companies. Weissman works with east and west coast clients on complex reinsurance, commercial and litigation matters, including cross border issues, mergers & acquisitions, dispute resolution and insurance regulatory matters. Additionally, he advises clients on reinsurance and insurance techniques designed to avoid disputes and regulatory issues.

Previously a partner at SNR Denton, Weissman is licensed to practice in California, the District of Columbia, and New York, as well as numerous courts. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California and his law degree from the Santa Clara University of Law.
